'Shallow depressions are centred off North Scotland,
off West Ireland and over central Germany. A wide ridge of high pressure
extends from North-east to South-west across the British Isles and the
cold air current from the Continent is no longer reaching this country.
There will be some further periods of snow in the South-east, and local
snow, sleet or rain in North Scotland, and scattered snow or hail showers
elsewhere. Bright periods will occur in most districts. Fog will occur
in many places tonight and early tomorrow. It will continue cold;temperatures
will rise a little above freezing point in the middle part of the day,
but there will be severe frost at night in many districts' Outlook-Mainly fair, less cold by day but severe frosts in many districts
